5 Reasons to Choose a Notebook Over a Computer Desktop

11310499416_compaq-desktop-computers.jpgMany of us are so used to working on a computer desktop that when it comes time to purchase a new computer, we don’t consider other options. Today, computer notebooks – which were once called laptops – offer a number of advantages over a computer desktop. Here are just five reasons why you should take a second look at notebooks.

1. MobilityYou might be used to pulling up a chair to your computer, but it makes much more sense to pull your computer up to your chair. Laptops can certainly be used at your desk, but you also have the option of bringing them to the spot where you’re most comfortable. Maybe you’d like to surf the Web in the evening out in the living room or catch up on your favorite blogs before bedtime. Notebooks with wireless connectivity can travel with you throughout your home, so you can check your email or do your Internet shopping anywhere. Of course, notebooks also make sense for those who are on the go. Students can take laptops to class and to the library, while businesspeople can take them along while traveling. With WiFi so widely available, it even makes sense to have a notebook while on vacation. With the right notebook, it’s easy to take photos with your digital camera, upload them, and email them to friends and family before you even get back home. Or you can use it to write a vacation blog and include those pictures from your digital camera.2. Better DisplaysThe size and quality of computer notebook displays has improved so dramatically that there’s little difference between laptops and a computer desktop. For example, you can get Apple’s MacBook with a 13.3-inch LCD widescreen (1280 x 800 pixels), a 15.4-inch LCD widescreen (1440 x 900 pixels) or a 17-inch widescreen (1680 x 1050 pixels). Similarly, the Compaq Presario has a 15.4-inch display. 3. Lighter WeightJust a few years ago, even the lightest notebook was a pain to lug around. Today, though, laptops are increasingly easy on the back. The MacBook is slightly over an inch thick and the Toshiba Portege weighs in at about four pounds. While that’s still heavy compared to come of the new ultralight convertibles (Fujitsu’s LifeBook U810 weighs only a pound and half), it’s a significant improvement over the old seven-pound laptops. 4. Better Computing and Battery PowerHistorically, two drawbacks of notebooks were their limited RAM, limited space on the hard drive, and short battery life. Times have changed, though, and laptops now have as much power under the hood as their computer desktop cousins. The MacBook, for example, has 1GB of memory (configurable up to 4 GB) and a hard drive that’s configurable to 250GB. This means that your software will hum right along and you’ll be able to zip through programs as quickly and as easily as you do on your desktop. Likewise, batteries in today’s notebooks don’t heat up and don’t conk out. 5. More FeaturesIn older laptops, the computer’s size and weight limited the number and types of features available. Today, with smaller processors and other components, there’s room to pack more features into notebooks. For example, the MacBook has a DVD player, built-in webcam, built-in wireless capability, two USB ports and a FireWire port, built-in microphone, and audio and digital input/output.There are so many advantages to owning notebooks that, before you buy your next computer, it’s worth your while to take one for a spin.

Compaq Presario CQ60-615DX — A Cool Laptop Notebook

01310499417_compaqarmadam300.jpgThe Compaq Presario CQ60-615DX follows the tried-and-true budget laptop formula, supplying an Intel Celeron processor, 2GB of RAM, integrated Intel graphics, a 250GB hard drive, and a 15.6-inch display for a bargain basement price. This Presario is a good value, in large part for its solid construction, comfortable keyboard, and roomy display.
The Compaq Presario CQ60-615DX is powered by single core Intel Celeron 900 processor that runs at 2.2GHz frequency. It also has 1MB of Cache Memory. It provides faster 250GB of hard drive. Windows 7 Home Premium is preinstalled with this laptop; with this system appears pretty responsive and peppy. Overall, the performance is satisfactory. It handles photoshop, iTunes and web browsing with some sluggishness, but it is acceptable.
Gorgeous Look

The Compaq Presario CQ60-615DX doesn’t look or feel like a low-end laptop. It has an overall polished look with a glossy lid with a simple Q logo in its middle, a matte black screen bezel, and a silver wrist rest. A long, sturdy hinge runs nearly the width of the laptop to hold the display in place without much wobble. The keyboard feels spacious, even with a dedicated number pad to its right. The keys have a matte finish and have just the right amount of travel. The recessed touchpad has the same glossy finish as the rest of the wrist rest, but it’s not the high-gloss finish common to HP’s Pavilion laptops, so your mousing finger doesn’t experience the same annoying drag on the glimmering Pavilion models. The Presario’s mouse buttons, however, are a tad on the stiff side.

The laptop weighs 6.2 pounds, slightly heavy for a 15.6-inch laptop. Most laptops of this size weigh between 5.5 and 6 pounds. The 15.6-inch display has a 16:9 aspect ratio, 1,366×768-pixel native resolution. The screen is bright and crisp. With its resolution, the screen can display 720p video. Its Intel GMA 4500M graphics were able to deliver a smooth video experience.
Perfection Design

The Compaq Presario CQ60-615DX is based on the single-core Intel Celeron 900 processor clocked at 2.2GHz. That speed helped it outpace the Acer Aspire AS5532-5535, which uses a single-core AMD Athlon 64 QL-62 processor clocked at 1.6GHz. Also in the Celeron’s favor is its 1MB of L2 cache; the Athlon 64 QL-62 has only 512KB. The Acer Aspire does feature 3GB of DDR2 memory to the Presario’s 2GB, but the extra gigabyte of memory didn’t help the Acer’s cause in our tests. The Presario completed CNET Labs’ multitasking test in nearly half the time the Acer Aspire took, and it was 32 percent and 47 percent faster than the Acer on our Photoshop and iTunes benchmarks, respectively.

If the cramped keyboards and small screens have kept you from picking up an inexpensive Netbook , then you should give the Compaq Presario CQ60-615DX a look. Like Netbooks, the Presario CQ60-615DX uses a single-core processor, which limits application performance, particularly when multitasking. However, for basic tasks it offers smooth performance.
Complete Equipment

Compaq Presario CQ60-615DX laptop is ideal for general purpose like internet, music, video and MS Office work, and the best thing is the price, It is affordable laptop. CQ60-615DX has 15.6″ HD display with BrightView technology and 1366 x 768 resolution featuring Intel GMA 4500M graphics engine. For performance, this presario laptop loaded with 2.2GHz Intel Celeron processor 900 coupled with 2GB RAM and 250 GB of hard drive. It runs Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64-bit operating system. The Presario CQ60-615DX features Altec Lansing stereo speakers, and we were mildly impressed with their output. They are loud and clear enough at max volume to hear movie dialog, but like nearly every laptop speaker set, they lack the depth to deliver satisfying music playback.

Not surprisingly, the Presario CQ60-615DX lacks higher-end–though increasingly common–connections such as HDMI, eSATA ports, and an ExpressCard slot. We were surprised to find a media card reader absent, too. However, neither system have a Webcam. The Presario does supply an always-appreciated Wi-Fi on/off button, along with another that disables the touch pad. Lastly, some entry-level laptops cut a corner by using 802.11g Wi-Fi, but the CQ60-615DX has wireless N support.

Many years ago, when you buy a computer, certainly it will be a heavy computer as big a sewing machine. But advancement in technology has made it possible to be use a small machine that is much lighter, faster, and better than it was many years back.

The HP Compaq NX6125 is a laptop notebook that is filled with features, such as security, multimedia, gaming, and an overall performance. The HP Compaq has a 60 GB hard disk drive which is meant for your storage, and keeping of files. Although it is quite small compared to other laptop computers. There are some having as much as 200GB hard disk space, so try something better.

It is also loaded with a high security feature such as an integrated biometric fingerprint sensors, and a Bluetooth. These features will help keep your laptop computer from external factors, such as persons, etc.

Also included, are network connection, that is wireless connectivity. As a businessperson, who is on the road, you an connect to the world, and others can also reach you. It has a FireWire port, about 3 USB ports, and a 6-in-1 memory card reader. For those who will love to transmit data from memory cards, you are just at the right point, this laptop notebook is for you. I personally love a laptop computer where i can connect some peripherals to, such as camera, camcorders, phone, etc, and having this HP Compaq NX6125 is going to be good. Alright, i’ll go get mine…

This laptop is built with an AMD Turion processor, which is one of the best chip gaining popularity over the world. Although, this laptop computer is not among the ultraportable laptops we have seen. It practically weighs about 6.0 pounds, which is a little bit heavy. But it is built in a good fashion, having a scratch resistant body, spill resistant keyboard, and panel protection system. All these are just to help protect from external factors.

And also the sight of the laptop is not so good, compared to laptops like gateway, apple, etc, but it is built to be durable, and strong. Personally, i appreciate what i see before getting to know what is in it. If it is not very beautiful, at least usable outside, then it is not one of my options. But people are different, and what matters differs. So, you go for the best.
